Allow Custom Cancellation Policies in the Direct Booking Widget
We use the iGMS Direct Booking Widget but have a custom cancellation policy that does not match any of the available iGMS presets.
Currently, selecting “Not set” causes the guest checkout to display a generic message stating that the host determines the cancellation policy and handles refunds manually. This creates conflicting information when the host has already clearly provided a defined cancellation policy during the direct-booking process.
Requested improvement:
Please allow hosts to either:
Enter a custom cancellation policy that is displayed in the Direct Booking Widget checkout, or
Hide the Cancellation Policy section when “Not set” is selected.
Ideally, a Custom option could simply provide a text field where the host enters their policy. The widget would then display that text under “Cancellation Policy” instead of the generic “Not set” message.
This would allow hosts to maintain accurate and consistent booking terms without having to select an iGMS preset that does not represent their actual policy.
Example: Our direct-booking experience clearly presents our cancellation terms before checkout, but the final iGMS checkout then displays “Cancellation Policy: Not set.” To a guest, this can make a professionally defined policy appear incomplete or contradictory.
This seems like a relatively small Direct Booking Widget enhancement that could benefit any host using customized cancellation terms.
